15th Amendment
This amendment states that the government cannot deny a persons right to vote based on race. To find a way around this amendment litarcy tests, and poll taxes were created to keep African Americans and Americans of any other race, out of the polls.
16th Amendment
The 16th amendment allows Congress to have the power to collect tax. The states and people have no consensus on how much they will be taxed.
17th Amendment
Before this amendment, the states used to elect their US senators. Due to the 17th amendment, the people are the ones who elect the US senators. The Senator's terms last for six years. There are two Senators from each state.
18th Amendment
The 18th amendment prohibited the production, sale, or transportation of alcoholic drinks. There was huge reaction to this amendment. Bootleggers
19th Amendment
This amendment gave women the right to vote. Before this amendment some states had already allowed women the right to vote.
20th Amendment
The 20th amendment stastes that if the president of the United States dies, the vice president takes the position. This amendment also states the beginning and end of their terms.
21st Amendment
This Amendment overturns the 18th amendment. It legalizes alchoholic beverages.
